When I was in high school, I was obsessed with James Franco.

Unsure of whether it was his good looks, his James Dean-esque persona, or his roles in some of my favorite films and shows, like "Freaks n Geeks" or "Pineapple Express," I chose him.

This is one of my only pieces I made with charcoal, although I truly enjoyed working in black and white. I feel that it allows me to convey contrast more clearly, and emphasize on the important elements of a photo – similar to a black and white photograph.
